Last week I sent an application to get into a one year pre-course engineering semester and got the confirmation that I was accepted at the end of last week. I went along with two friends who also wanted to do the course, one sent an early application and the other just applied at the school this monday, the opening-day.

In retrospect and with the experience I had on the first day I think I’ll decide to cancel the course for 3 reasons. 1. I haven’t decided what I want to apply for after this course, which makes this course somewhat meaningless. The pre-course is strictly for engineering degrees later on, can’t gain points for other types of degrees. 2. I’m not motivated and couldn’t really care less, partly because of the former reason. 3. If I want to apply to some courses that require math, physics and chemistry, I can do a short summer course instead of one year course (which normally also includes other classes like norwegian, english and a society course you can skip if you’re approved). It’s just not the right choice for me. I acted on feelings and wanted to do something new, have a goal, but clearly I don’t just know what yet.

Update:
I’ve discussed with my other friends also on the same course and I think I try it and see how it goes. And I found out that I can skip chemistry too, freeing up friday and the earliest class to 0900.

Update:
On the 29th August I most likely had my last class of the current semester. It didn’t work out and was not something for me, not yet at least.
