Three day trip to Riga, for the first time. Have heard a lot of good things about the place, both from friends and family. Turned out to be just as people have raved.
Stay
- Blue Cow Hostel - really nice and cosy hostel, relatively expensive 18 EUR
- Funky Hostel - last night spend here, more transitional hostel, a few dorms, good amenities, 8.50 EUR
Eat
- Lido - large buffet restaurant, pick the items you want on a tray, reasonable prices, make sure to pick a glass of Kefir, several locations through the city, larges one outside the city
- Apsara Tea House - peaceful little cabin/house in the park, two locations, great selection of teas, pick the tea and have it delivered to the relaxation space on the second floor
- Raw Garden - raw food spot, located on the lower street floor, fresh and good (dear I say healthy) food, owner is nice
See
- Old town - the inner city center has a lot of narrow streets, old and modern buildings next to each other
- Zentralmarkt - large massive outdoor and indoors marked, get there early in the morning
- The Museum of The Occupation of Latvia - history of how Riga came to be
- Club Essential - one of the more known club places
