The TBS Caipirinha is a small wing released by Team BlackSheep purposely designed for FPV use. It can be flown anywhere and the light weight makes it resilient to crashes. The airframe has pod inserts in the front for a GoPro HD camera, in addition to a pod to make it easy and safe to mount a FPV camera.
This is a great wing to get into FPV or to learn new tricks for proficient FPV flyers.

Build notes
- Airframe:
- Assemble: super-glue+kicker glue to join the wing halves, polyurethane (PU) (Gorilla) to install the spars and super-glue for the thin strip spars
- Film: apply optional laminate using hot-iron from front of the wing to the back, one sheet on top, one on the bottom, first spray glue (Loctite 200) the foam if it is going to be painted
- Elevons:
- Shape: pre-tapered 1/2-inch from the side down half way the middle of the elevon
- Paint: optional low VOC or foam safe spray paint, Krylon Rust-Oleum flats and Neons Any flat color will work fine
- Film: pre-laminated yellow film
- Attachment: elevon tape (3M storage) to attach elevon to airframe
- Winglets:
- Attachment: hot glue to keep them positioned, silicone adhesive (Goop) around the wing edge to keep it flexible, or nylon nuts and screws to make them removable

- Install: epoxy glue between the servo compartment and servo, or double-sided foam tape and glass-fiber tape

Tips and tricks
- Minimum 1:2 static thrust to weight for leisurely flight, 1:1 for aerobatics, and atleast 1.4:1 for extreme maneuvers [7]
- To get a smooth and glosse finish of the airframe, add a thin layer of laminate on both sides before adding the other gear
- When choosing folding props, Aeronaut assume a 42mm yoke centrepiece, whereas Graupner assume a 32mm centrepiece [8]
- A thrust-to-weight ratio 1:1 means that the motor generates the same thrust as the weight of the plane [9]
- Use 3M double-sided tape to fasten servos and packing tape to cover the compartment, easy to remove for later repairs and upgrades
- On a white airframe finish, spray the servos white to make them blend more, or cover the servo pods with white sheet
- A tail heavy airplane is destined to crash, while an nose heavy airplane will be sluggish to elevator commands but it will still be flyable [10]
- CoG balance test; put the wing on a 45 degree dive and 1/4 throttle, release elevator stick, plane should level back; it is tail heavy if it continues to dive and nose heavy if it alternates between climb/dive dips [11] [12]
- Thrust line should pass through both the center of mass and the center of drag [13] [14]
- To keep the same ESC current draw; when going up in prop size go down in motor Kv [15]
- APC propellers perform almost the same as one size larger Graupner propellers, e.g. the thrust from a APC 10x4.7 Slowfly equals the thrust from a Graupner 11x5 [16]
- Initial elevon trim is flush to the airframe [17]
- Program maximum elevon travel range for elevator of +-10 mm and aileron for +-15 mm
- For smooth flight, program expo to 50% aileron, 30% elevator [18]
- On the black model, spray or paint the balsa wood pieces black for a coherent match with the frame
- To adjust the CG, move the battery further a bit by doing a cut in front and taping the foam to the back [19]
- Laminate is not essential, the wing is too curved to get the laminate on, the strength isn't needed and the added weight is overkill [20]
