In early 2005 I found a couple of cheap Inform UPS battery backup units for my servers. They worked great and did they're simple switching job well when the power went out. Fast forward a few years to 2008 and the situation is different, one of the units no longer can hand half of it's capacity. I quickly figured it was the battery and swapped it out for a new 12v 7.2 Ah sealed maintenance-free lead battery.

The UPS is rated for AC 220V 50/60 Hz input and 350 W / 600 VA, 50/60 Hz, AC 220V output.

New battery

I looked for a suitable replacement battery and I found two local suppliers, both offering the same amperage but slight price difference. I tried the cheaper option to experiment how much load and how durable the battery is.
